  1. We still struggle with sex slavery issue in the 21st century I believe because there are truly evil, sick, disturbed people who enjoy and profit on sex slavery around the world.

I cannot believe how no matter what laws are made or how many people know about what is going on nothing is being done to stop this insanity. Russia alone has 1 million children living on the street who are forced to do whatever is necessary to survive, Japan has a group called the super free, who gang rapes young women at parties they have (the women are 20 to 1), Italy has foreign sex slaves forced into prostitution terrified to get help or out of the business, Nepal has over 250,000 girls in their sex market some as young as 9 years old, whose virginity is sold for 50 cents, these girls cannot leave the market until they pay back what they were bought for.

What ever happened to the children being our future?

  2. All over the world sex in the most lucrative industry. Even thou prostitution is usaually forced many do it as a means to survive. In Dubai, Ethiopian woman sell sex not by force but by their own free will as regular income. Its a shame that we are coming into 2010 and we still force this kind of lifestyle on the people we're here to protect. But all aorund the earth their are places that protitution is legal (U.S., Germany) and for the US that industry is regulated and taxed just like any other. Im not at ease with the notion that protitution is legal nor do I think it should be, be people are going to do it regardless. No matter how many sanctions or regulations any government rules.

  4. The subject on prostitution is unfortunately still booming after a century of it being an issue in the world. Reading the newspaper, I came across an article which stated that prostitution may be recession resistant but not recession proof. The question is, why is this subject resistant to the recession? Why must it continue even after thousands of people are being left unemployed, some even homeless? Is sex really worth buying when many of our citizens are struggling economically? How sick and horrible is it that instead of the sex-selling issue decreasing, it is actually increasing, since many women, men, and even forced children are left to no choice but to sell their bodies for money.
The sad part is that the majority, if not all prostitutes, are being pushed to sell their bodies. It was not something they intended to do from when they were younger. It was the only way to pay bills if you're lacking the education or lacking a job, which is the situation occuring in America. Prostitution unfortunately will never die out, as too many companies benefit from selling sex. I believe that the more and more sex is advertised, the more we will create this image in our Youth's heads that this is what's in, and this is fun, so as soon as they come of age, they must engage in the activity and support it. That is how sex fanatics are created and it's sickening. This is how sexual perverts are created, who kidnap children and after having their ways with them, place the children "on the market". I once read a story about a pimp and a prostitute, he kidnapped her when she was 14, told her he loved her and after he was in need of money, sold her to someone for $100. It has come to the conclusion that we are now pricing bodies as if it were a TV selling business.
Although many fight to end this process, I strongly believe it will never come to a complete halt. Sex has been pierced into our brains from when we were children to when we die, with advertisements and products emerging all related to sexual performance. We may want to put this subject behind us but the truth is, prostitution will always be around, as long as all this pornography and sex-related advertising exists.

  5. I believe that there are many ethical issues involving the sexual exploitation of women. First it appears that a women’s socioeconomic status has a lot to do with women being sexually exploited. It appears that because at some point of their lives they were abused by a parent or family member they are stripped of their morals and values at an early age. Many women run way from home having to live on the street leading them to a life of sex and drugs. Second it is wrong for humans to enslave other humans for the sake of money against there will. It is difficult to understand how this type of behavior exists today, but I guess money is power. Many of these women say they don’t like being exploited and do it to survive. There are very little solutions to this worldwide problem. The lack of resources available to assist these women is very limited or none at all, therefore, leaving them with little or no hope for the future.

  6. In one perspective, American Laws I must say fit right into the equation for justice, regarding either prostitution, human trafficing, human turtor, enslavement and other inhumane towards humans activities. There are countries like Australia who believe in sugar coating the biggest criminals no matter what they have done, they do not believe in life sentencings, nor death imprisionment. I bring this to a point about Australian Elisabeth Fritzl's case, a 42 year old woman kept imprisioned by her own father for 24 years, during thoses years had fathered seven children by him, one who died after birth. She was raped over 3,000 times based on her father's confesion to the Australian authorities. She had been his personal sex toy, since the age of eleven, at 18 he kept her captive in their basement. Her mother Rosemary knew nothing of this during all the years, she belived her daughter had ran away to never come back. Eventually he was captured by police, Fritzl is found guilty of the murder by negligence of his infant son/grandson, Michael, as well as the enslavement, incest, rape, coercion and false imprisonment of his daughter, Elisabeth, and is sentenced to life imprisonment. But some say that he will be out in a few years or so. If this happened in America he would have faced more trials, and consequences and most likly death!, and if this was in the middle east he would have gotten his privates cut off as well as his neck.

This is one of many cases that made head lines news, but why wait for it to world wide, we should take a big step into really capturing thoses who hard people, childrend under age, and thoses countries that traffic little boys and those whom kidnapped in order to make profits.

  7. Let me begin by stating that I believe that any kind of sexual exploitation against children is wrong. It saddens me to read stories about young girls, less than 10 years old even, being married to adult men. All of this happening in many parts of the world. These girls are not able to make their own decisions and should be given the childhood they deserve. No child is capable of understand sex or anything that comes along with it.

I also believe the controlling and manipulation of women is also wrong. Yet, I have always struggled with the subject of prostitution when used by a women whom makes her own decisions and for whatever reason chooses to make prostitution her "career". I can't seem to understand why it would be illegal for a woman to do with her body as she pleases. I don't like the choice myself and don't get me wrong, would never have the guts to do it, but somehow I think that a woman or man should be able to make the decision, as long as it does not impose on someone else's life. Sex sells and face it, some people will always use it as an easy way to earn a living and the buyers as a means to have something they wouldn't otherwise get.

  8. I believe that women nowadays have the choice to become a prostitute or not. Therefore, regardless of the rules and laws that govern prostitution it’s never going to stop because the women that choose this life style see it as easy money. That’s why I believe that the United States should start taking control and really govern prostitution instead of just sending them to jail over night so that they can come back out the very next morning. If the United States decided to make it legal but with stipulations, it would be profitable for everyone. They can make it so that it could be done specifically on sex stores or houses just for that and they could monitor it just like they do the food market, by putting regulations. For example, in order to be a prostitute they would have to apply and go thru the process as a regular job with physical exams to prevent or try to control IAD’s. I believe that this action alone would diminish the street prostitution by more than half.

  9. Sexual exploitation is something that has been going on since the earliest of civilizations, mainly with women. This is unfortunate but is something that is unlikely to change. Sex is a billion dollar industry in today’s global economy. So we understand that people are going to be into this and it’s not going away. This creates a population of people, grossly obsessed with sex. In the world there are going to be people who are good and evil. Women who are in desperate need of money see this as there only way get back on track and end up falling into the allure of making big money quickly. The problem with prostitution and other forms of illegal or shady sexual activity is that it basically advertises itself to people who are involved in criminal activity and/or generally don’t care about people. In the end the unfortunate truth is that it comes down to if the prostitute is willing to go through those risks for the money and if she’ll be able to get herself out of it when she has the chance.

  10. It can be in the twenty-first century or the 1980's I personal think that sex exploitation against women won't change. It's not just women it is also men and children. An estimation of between 700,000 and four million women, children, and men are trafficked out and 14,500 to 17,500 women and children are trafficked into this country each year. This is also a big issue because these some women who put themselves in harm way when they go to the street and sell themselves for money and it makes the numbers even higher. Even if the numbers seems like it is not going to get lower I think that it is ways for some women to profit it.

  12. It’s easy to believe that we are still dealing with human sex trafficking and sex exploitation even in present times due to the constant poisoned media we are feed every day of our lives. They say sex sells but what are we really selling? The deterioration of our humanity! It’s the sleazy advertising that’s creating pedophile, sex addicts and molesters by repeatedly showing the same sex images of both men and women from magazines to TV and internet having an influence on our youth and creating a vicious cycle. I believe there should be control over this issue because its one thing for a responsible adult to have the freedom to pursue sex as discreet as possible but it’s inexcusable to have an underage adolescent exposed to this corruption.

No one is entitled to judge anyone for they’re actions, a woman should have the right to do what ever she wants with her body whether it is struggling to make a living or a way to cut corners and make fast money by using prostitution as a means to an end. But why can’t it be done professionally supervised and regulated by the government to prevent the spreading of STD’s and the dangers of the streets.

This leads us to human trafficking, more and more we are seeing the abduction of young women and children to foreign land and sold to be made sex slaves. Often time’s these vulnerable young women and children who come from broken families or who have experienced a drug dependency are lured into the world of prostitution. The majority are helpless weak minded women who will be brain washed to find shelter and refuge in they’re so called “Pimps” and be victims of sex exploitation. Intimidated and living in fear without any escape due to threats made to both them and they’re families they are forced to be sex slaves until they meet the amount they were bought for which many times could take a life time. Its frightening to think this world phenomenon is spreading and little or nothing is being done to stop or even control it. It truly makes me sick at the thought of what the future holds for our children.

  13. Human trafficking is an abominable practice that not only targets the most vulnerable members of our society, but violates their basic human rights. The most predominant and lucrative of this outrageous practice is sex trafficking. Women (especially teenage girls) and children are being forced to engage in prostitution and in all kind of sexual exploitations that diminish their life forever.
Moreover, human trafficking in all its forms: prostitution, involuntary servitude, (which is basically slavery), and forced labor is a global phenomena, since is carried out in all countries around the world. A recent statement from the United Nations says that “Over the past decade, trafficking in persons has reached epidemic proportions [in which] no country is immune”. However, in my opinion, it is not clear that every nation is truly committed to eradicate this problem. Even though, it is a topic that has been addressed - in different occasions - by several world leaders at the U.N General Assembly. Definitely, these victims are human beings that deserve and demand more concrete actions and less rhetoric from their leaders.

  14. Imagine you are a 14 year old girl who doesn’t have a home to life. You have nobody to run to and no money to pay for food, clothing, or shelter. You are living in the street alone and you are approach by a middle-aged man who offers enough money to survive the next two weeks by having sex with strangers. What would you do? First you would refuse and try to find another job, but weeks later you would realized that you don’t have the skill and education required to obtain a job that will pay for your basic needs. Millions of people like this 14 year old girl decide every year that prostitution is their only option to obtain some money to survive. Prostitution is a form of sexual exploitation which includes street prostitution, massage parlors or brothels, escort services, strip clubs, phone sex, pornography, and domestic and international trafficking. Prostitution and the traffic of people for sexual exploitation is a high-profit, low-risk business for those who organize it, but it is detrimental to the millions of men, women and children exploited in slavery-like conditions in the global sex industry. Commercial sexual exploitation of children and women trafficking are two principal elements of the more pervasive problem of human exploitation. Victims are at high risk of unwanted pregnancies and of contracting many diseases as HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. The minority of people who do manage to escape the sex trade face social dishonor, family rejection, shame, fear of retribution, and the loss of future economic prospects. What about college students who are prostitutes because they need the money to pay for their classes or illegal people who don’t have permission or documents to work. What they should do? Our society is very strict about this topic for them this people are meaningless, but the reality is that we should pay more attention about this problem. The government should take more measures to stop human exploitation and make new laws to protect these people. In addition there people who are kidnap and kill every year when they try to run away from their country for a better lifestyle. For example Mexicans and Cubans who died trying to come to the United States every year for a better life. The government system from different countries is worry about nature problems, financial economy, and war issues. They don’t realize that human exploitation is one of the most important problems. Our Society should concern more about sexual exploitation and abuse to find new ways to prevent these atrocious events.

  15. Acoording to Hughes, Sexual exploitation is a practice by which a person achieves sexual gratification, financial gain or advancement through the abuse or exploitation of a person's sexuality by abrogating that person's human right to dignity, equality, autonomy, and physical and mental well-being. Forms of sexual explotation include: human trafficking, prostitution, prostitution tourism, mail-order-bride trade, pornography, stripping, battering, incest, rape and sexual harassment.
There are several ethical issues involving sexual exploitation especially for women and children. The fact that someone can benefit from violating someone's dignity, metal/emotional being, body, beliefs and safety is unfortunate, disgusting, and unethical. Women and children have been a large target for sex exploitation whether itd be forced or by own will, they are the first who suffer from these unethical actions. Many of these women and children exposing themselves to these malicious practices because they need the money, some even forced to suffer in order to keep their own lives. Then, In places like Las Vegas and all over the US you have women involved in prostitution at their own free will who live off of this and who enjoy this. We have all these women that expose theyre bodies for money and basically take their bodies for granted and then you have women in Russia, Central & South America, China who are forced if not killed to commit the same actions. Its amazing to see what money makes people do. The fact that you and others can use your body and those of children & dignity as a means to an end. Yet, we still take for granted our bodies and our well being not aware of what other women and children are suffering. Theres nothing wrong with being the 23 year old pornstar, especially not when you compare her to a 8 year old prostitute in china, right?

Prostitution has been named the oldest profession known in the world, but somebody could tell it is a profession where women are abused and humiliated? All societies through the humankind’s history have allowed and punished prostitution in some ways. Truly, we have lived in a world governed by men, in which, their rules has been imposed to let them do whatever is convenient to their own pleasure. But pain and suffering has been the cost to most women involved in sexual acts that denigrates their value as human being. Who has not heard, seen, or read stories of prostitutes being killed, raped, and slaved all times without nobody has done practically nothing for find a solution. Where the society is’s moral which has hidden a real problem, but no show solutions. It is very embarrassed for all of us that still in our nowadays we have child prostitution, human traffic, that is well known to be used for sexual exploitation, and other ways of sexual exploitation and abuse that lead us to think our society is complicit for its indifference again something that hurt our women.
The fact is that women are the complement’s men no a sexual object to be used or abused. Women are our mothers, spouses, sisters, and daughters that none man would like to hurt. We must change our attitude facing this problem to stop a practice that has caused too much damage to one of the most appreciate life’s gift.

  17. Sexual exploitation is clearly immoral, it is used as a means to an end. The sexual exploitation of women and children is horrific and I strongly believe that it is wrong. The pain from someone that has been exploited can show itself in self-destructive behaviors such as self-mutilation, overdosing, eating disorders and crime. Sexual exploitation is all around us and it is a heinous situation for those who are subjected to it. The unfortunate part about it is, it has been in existence for a very long time.
The word prostitution is defined as an act or practice of engaging in sex acts for hire.
According to some, prostitution is the oldest profession in the world. I sometimes wonder why a women would use her body in such a demeaning manner, compromising morality but then again it’s her body and she should be able to do with it whatever she wants. I’m sure the dream of a flashy lifestyle, fast money and the means to survival influences the decision to become a prostitute but the challenge comes when they’re ready to get out of that profession and live a normal life. At the end, an individual should be allowed the choice to do what they want with their body but no one should be subjected to sexual exploitation.

  18. Prostitution is one of the oldest professions in the world. Unfortunately for women it has been a profession that has demoralized them. In the old world and even in the modern world women are still being used as sex objects. Unfortunately prostitution has evolved with the times and has become a more organized business. In the modern world we have what is known as escort services. It is a way of making prostitution a legitimate business. Some women choose this way of life because it is an easy means of revenue. But this is not always the case. Women are usually subjected to prostitution through unfortunate circumstances. Usually the demografics for a young woman to fit this lifestyle entails a history of abuse, no fatherfigure in their life and low self esteem. They look for someone to turn to and at times that someone happens to be a pimp that takes them in and cares for them. He would then brainwash them or force them into having sex for money to earn their keep. This situation them becomes enslavement because chances are that women would not be able to pick up and leave at will. In other less develope countries this happens on a daily basis and can be even younger of age. Sometimes society does nothing to change these ways. If society does not change, there is no chance for women in these countries to progress rights for women.

  19. We still struggle with these horrible problem in the Twenty-First century because the necessity of money, need of new laws and lack of opportunities. I believe that these three reasons are the main important cause of sex slavery.
Sex Trafficking is the quickest-growing illegal business in the globe, sex trafficking seems to be a lucrative industry for the criminals with a total annual profits between USD $5 billion and $9 billion. Sex slavery victims typically are taken using oppression, fraud, and exploitation of power; and it’s there where we can see the combinations of these reasons working together for sex exploitation. Victims are usually the most susceptible and defenseless people in an area. They habitually come from poorer places where money is scant and opportunities are limited. Sometimes they are tricked by traffickers that promised better jobs and economic opportunities for them and their families, but the only result of these promises is to be slaves for people without ethics and sensibility for human lives. Unfortunately the majority of these criminals are not penalized by the authority of these areas leaving these acts unpunished and the victims powerless.
